Okay, up here in Maryborough and loving it - but before I get into things, you HAVE to go read this entry by a friend of my brothers - (especially you Annie, you'll reallly appreciate it!:) It's laugh out loud funny, it is:) I added it to my favotite entries.... If you are a d*lander and don't use it, you should - and link an entry of mine! Need to find one? Click here for a random entry to see if anything I ever said was witty and/or poignant...:)
Okay, and back to moi!
So I'm in Maryborough. It's north from Brisbane up the Sunshine Coast. We spent a day doing touristy things in Brisbane and enjoyed it muchly, and I also had a gig with a jazz combo! and then did a day of clinics/work. Fun stuff....
here be some pictures of fun in Brisbane.... well, you see, I've spent almost 5 weeks with my parents, and I'm starting to get really sick of having my picture taken. SO I've either made it difficult for 'em, or I've gone hidling and they've had to come find me...:)
Like here, mom says, lets get a picture of Reva and I next to this pretty tree in a little rainforest-like part of the pretty area around Southbank in dwontown Brisbane... and I think, a dumb tree?? You want a picture of the dumb tree?? I'll give you a freaking tree.... heehee....
And I don't know if you can see this, but I'm by this pretty Nepalese temple and I was annoyed at the sight of yet another Kodak moment, so if you look reaaaal close, you'll see my finger up my nose:)
Now here they had to sneak up behind me when I went hiding... really pretty fountain next to the art museum... I'm touching the wather. I like touching stuff, such a kid I am...
Here's me at my gig with a groovy jazz combo! They we're waaay better than me, but they were nice about it:) And I don't know if you can see it, but I just got those groovy shirts that day and I felt quite snazzy:)
So then we had to rent a car and go drive up here for this conference up here - but we had two days to sight-see. People kept telling us to go see all these beaches and islands and things, but honestly, we're getting a little tired of it. We didn't want to see the same thing again.... so we got in a car without a plan (and dad driving on the left side of the road - eeeep!!!) and headed off.
By complete chance, we were lucky enough to rin right into a place called The Big Pineapple, a working pineapple farm with restaurants, petting farm, tours, trains and such. Some may call it a tourist trap, but I call it a tourist service. The best thing sometimes is to just be able to go somewhere fun and kitschy and just be a tourist - be pandered to. It was so much fun!
If you look carefully near the top of this picture, the little black blob is ME - up at the top of the Big Pineapple!!
We took a neat train ride and saw the farm - and I swear this next picture isn't doctored - the actually feed these chickens some weird dye that makes their feathers come out thsese colors!!
And here is my favorite picture of all... I met a few kangaroos and wallabees... look at my happy encounter with one at the farm..... :)
Isn't that great?!!?! heehee...
And now we have our clinics and things for the next few days, and I'm playing with another jazz combo AND I get to play with a pops orchestra up here... I can't wait to play. Oooo, I miss it!!
All in all, I'm just happy to be in a decent hotel room again and to be finishing up this trip in such a nifty way. I just feel goooood.
SUPERCRACK is soaking up the Aussie vibes while she can!
