What a spectacularly craptacular day. What is a girl to do when she feels alienated, failing and lonely?
BLOG!
Oh blog, how I doth love thee!! YOU never make fun of me or make me feel dumb. Well, except for those 500-something threats last summer, but they have moved on methinks.
It's not that anything in particular happened to thrust me into the depths of oh-woe-is-me. It's just a conglomeration of things, side glances, and comments that could be taken two ways.
Pshh. I went to a play group with some moms from church today and I had an okay time. The girls there are all about my age, we should all be friends. On some shallow level, I think we are. There's just this one chick...
She's a feminist and just doesn't seem to have a sense of humor about anything anyone says except for herself. And I am one humor-full lady. At least I think so. So whenever I open my large yap, she's always got something to put in it. Poop on her.
I don't fit in so much with these mommying types, too. I dunno, I always feel uncomfortable around them. It's probably my fault. Nooo, I'm not getting my little ego in a twist. I just feel like I don't belong and end up acting like a complete doofus.
Oooo, and here's another thing in my brain.
Hypothetically - let's pretend you are in a meeting with some other ladies, and the woman teaching the lesson picks the topic of teaching teenagers how to date.
By the way, the meeting was SUPPOSED to be about women that have influenced your life, so how she came to the conclusion that she should teach a lesson on how to teach teen show to date was completely beyond me.
ANYwho, so she gets to the end (thank heavens!) of the lesson and makes some comment about "and then they'll be ready for marriage - not too early though! 25 is good!" (wink wink.) And the lesson is DONE!!!
Or is it?? Nope, 3 girls who got married young need to raise their hands and tell everyone that getting married at 19 was the smartest thing ever and then give details about how they got married.
Why do we need to know this? The lesson was almost DONE we were almost FREE!!
Here's my viewpoint on commenting when someone else is teaching a lesson - Does anyone else need to know this? 99% of the time, nope, noone else needs to know and the topic is not about you.
And also, my day would have gone better had my dear friend Elizabeth not have left for Phoenix this morning after spending a blissful day with me yesterday. How dare she give me such a delicious taste of her company and RIP it away from me thus. Me loves you!!
SUUUUPERCRACK!
