apples, personals, the works

April 07, 2008 at 8:48 p.m.

In answer to my last entry (in case you missed link in the comment section), my brother actually read the post and wrote a reply on his blog. It's honestly the best gift I could have been given, and I reread it every day. It's uplifting, to say the least.

Thank you Quinn, and I love you.

So a million years ago (okay, like 9 months ago) I put a post up on the family blog about this thing I saw on Etsy that was so weird, it was awesome - the Apple Jacket.

Past forward to a few weeks ago, and a friend I haven't seen in about, 7 or so years but have recently reconnected with via blog e.mailed me and asked me for my address because she had something for me... People, behold my APPLE JACKETS!!!!!

She'd seen the post, and then made me not one, but TWO because at some point Solei would be big enough to want something this awesome for her very own. Okay, first off, how on EARTH does a person make something like this?? And then mail it - honestly, cello girl left some clothes here 6 months ago, and I still haven't mailed them to her!!

Oh, and yes, I know those aren't actual apples, but I haven't gotten around to that part yet, and I had to see what it would look like - and unforch, Solei has been having so much fun putting the balls in it, that I'm afraid I may never get them back!

I don't know how on earth I got so lucky to have the friends I do, but I'll keep on trying to do it!

...

which brings us to our next topic - I have incredible friends, yes, but they are collected from all my moves and I am presently the loneliest girl in Atlanta.

Okay, technically not THE loneliest since I have the blessing of internets and cell phones and friends who use them, but I spend my days either teaching violin or watching my baby run in circles, and I wish I wasn't so blasted alone.

And Solei needs friends! But I have no idea how to make any of my own that have babies she can groove with - so, I'm desperate enough to make a personal ad:

Wanted: Married Slightly Pasty Mom with Worlds Cutest Toddler seeks like Mom of any shape, color or size with a Girl Toddler that doesn't beat other toddlers up for play dates, random trips to the park and field trips to Ikea. "I like sales at Target, long walks with a stroller, sitting on the floor and reading books with barnyard animals in them, and talking non-stop." Inquiries can be made at 555-MOM-E.

Where does one post something like this? There's a small play group at my church, but all the kids are boys and they keep beating up Solei and it really bothers me.

I. Need. A. Friend, people!

SUPERCRACK!
