reva freaks out about the greatest week EVER!!

THIS IS THE MOST INCREDIBLE WEEK OF MY LIFE.
Last night - officially - the best day of my life. DUDE!!!!!!! A concert with Claude Williams, a 94-year-old gent who has been recording jazz violin since 1924, Matt Glaser from Berklee, Darol Anger from HEAVEN, a Polish jazz violinist who happens to be INSANE but so freakin' cool, Paul Anastasio - a great swing fiddler, Buddy Spicher - a Nashville legend, and this 16 year
-old prodigy whom I've know for gobs of time - Billy Contrerras, oh and Mark O'Connor, the #1 fiddler in the world.
O MY HECKERDOODLES!!!!!!!!!
At one point the Polish guy started yodeling - and at he end they started running around the stage in a circle taking 2 bar solos and......
I must have ruined the entire night for everyone because I was screaming so much but it was the most incredible night of my LIFE!!!!!!
AND THEN - went to a jam in the hotel and the Polish guy showed up and started yodeling and playing his slolos at the same time and this amazing violinist from Philly with huge dreadlocks named Owen started yodeling and playing back and by the end they were screaming and jumping around like ape people and I joined in and it was beond the greatest impromptu thing I have ever experienced in my life.
I cried hours and days because I didn't get into Mancini - and now I know why. This place - with no pressure, only fun and the desire to just get funky - with over 150 violinists in the same place - I was supposed to be here. We jam everywhere - just for the heck of it, no judging and no "I'm as good as you" crap. I have never enjoyed my art more. AK!!!!!!!!!!!!
Any string players - DO THE MARK O"CONNOR FIDDLE CAMP NEXT YEAR!!!!!!! It sells out soon but man, it is the most awesome expreience - even if you can barely play - they have classes for you! There are 3 year-olds here! There are 90 year-ols here and everything in between..... MAN!!!!
