the gipper

Reva is under strict doctor's orders to do nothing with her hands, i.e., hold up a phone to her ear, type, play violin, etc. And seeing as how her adoring public is not to be denied she has called upon yours truly ( m.bear) to publish this day's glad tidings of great joy - or whatever - to ya'll.
She saw the chiropractor and osteopath on Monday (yesterday) and had moocho success with both. Word is she will be able to gently start playing violin again in about 3 or 4 weeks. On Monday night with her Family Home Evening buds she managed to shot off considerable quantities of marshmallows through pvc pipes in the park........well if ya can't play guitar, what else is left?
Get this.......When the Rev met the osteopath, he seemed strangely familiar. He plays violin, don'tchaknow. Well it turns out they had met a couple of years ago at the Mark O'Connor fiddle conference they both attended in San Diego and he is a two-time state fiddle champion.
Yours truly is ever-so-slightly vindicated because the osteopath told her that one of the ailments she was suffering from was...get this...Thoracic Outlet Syndrome. 'Say what' you ask? Look it up on the Internet....like I did when I first discovered this little devil AND told the Rev about it (only to to be ignored...of course....all mama's get use to it). Well.......this is exactly what this osteo guy told her she had, along with tendonitis and a few other leetle problems. uh huh - booyah - who's yo mama! He gave her some specific stretching exercises to do and vitamins and minerals to take and nutrition requirements, and told her to do aerobic exercise to increase blood flow to her arms.
It's looking good for Australia. Besides the convention presentations, there are a few schools that think they might want Reva to do demos on alternate violin styles with her electric dodads. You know it's going to be winter down under and seein' as how the Rev HATES Arizona heat, this year-without-a-summer is beginning to look not-so-bad-after-all. But wait until August.....Whack! A big ole heat slap up the side o' her head.
Speaking of August.....looks like Reva sweet talked her dad outta some serious cash.....AGAIN. She's signing up to go to the Mark O'Connor fiddle camp again in San Diego, Aug 4 - 9. He thinks is will be good therapy for her.
Oh, did you know her older bro, Quinn, is getting married at the end of May and she is one of the bride's maids? They are requesting that because they are just fine on STUFF that folks don't need to give gifts but instead can donate to the Perpetual Education Fund for the LDS church....check it out at LDS.org
Also, when she goes to Chile after her trip to Australia, she will see her younger bro, Dallin, who is serving a mission there the past 2 years.
Now, does this sound like the life of a gipper?!? I think not. This little blip on the radar screen has barely put a ritardando in her otherwise springy step even if it has flattened her a few times along the way. Like I told her the other day, she's going to come out of this better than when she went in.
So that's all the news that's fit to print. The Rev will be back with bells on. Take care, sweet gal, and keep the faith. Was fun talkin' at ya'll. Thanx for all your support for my baby girl.
...one more parting thought: "A ship in harbor is safe, but that is not what ships are for"
