a future?

hmmm....
I spent all morning in a local high school teaching jazz strings to a small renegade orchestrea members. I would have done it out of the goodness of my heart because I love to do it, but they wanted to pay me.
My instincts said to turn 'em down and do a good deed, but my bank account balked just a tad, so I relented grudgingly.
It was basic stuff on basic improvisation, some CD's and trying to get the group to open up and have some fun with violin (and one cello). I must say, being my mother's daughter, I'm pretty good at getting people excited about music.
But I still refuse to be a music education major and be at the mercy of the public school systems. Either on my terms or nobody's. Maybe I'll soften with age...
And on a seemingly unrelated topic, my dad has recenly sent out at least 10 million e.mails and phone calls to prospective master's schools for me all over the US. I'm a little overwhelmed... especially because I don't know what I want to do with my life.
but then it occurs to me that people want to pay me for this...
golly, have the flood gates opened? COuld there be a possibility out there for a future for the Reva in teaching jazz strings? My parents sure have paid enough to support my habit of alternative violin styles over the years.. festivals and camps from Chicago to New York to San Diego to Boston and much more.
Will YOU pay me to teach you jazz violin? I don't know a lot, but what I do know I can teach in a quite un-boring way.
Pay me lots. I want new shoes. Shiny ones.
SUPERCRACK SAYS happy weekend!!
