Tres stressed. Not much to really say.
Finished my big final this morning. I have my jury in a few hours. Really should get precticing.
I'm leaving for Chicago tomorrow to present at the biggest music ed conference in the USA. I'm doing a clinic on electric violins, their use in traditional educational settings and MIDI applications. Gobs of people will be there - including MANY peolple who are clinicians just like me and should be up there instead of me because they know so much more than me but somehow, I'm up there and I just shouldn't because I'm just a baby...akakakak!
And tonight my best buddy MattKey is coming into town to spend the night and I'm just thrilled. He's hilarious and I LOVE him!
But I have to pack tonight because I'm going straight to Colorado after Chicago and then I go to Toronto and LA and I won't be home (in Arimazona) until late January so I have to pack SOOO MUCH but I have really little luggage so heck if I know what I'm goona do.. Two checked in bags, right? One is going to be my huge rack of electric violin stuff and then a suticase that is oh-so-tiny - and my carry-on is my violin case that fits 2 violins so it's really big so I can't bring anything else on....
le sigh......
AKKKKKK!!!!!!!!
So that's how Im doing. This weekend I got in a car accident on the highway - some guy cut off the person in front of me, she slammed on her brakes, but since she has a new BMW, her brakes stop on a dime and don't lock... I slammed on my poor old '76 Chevy Malibu's brakes but I still ran into her. Just messed up the bumper, but it's such a freaking headache.
Annnnnd last night I played violin at a church christmas program where everyone else sang for their musical numbers and it was miserable!! You know how everyone at church thinks they can sing? whooo boooy..... long winded night, lemme tell ya.
One girl had a beautiful voice but she sang this number that a man had wrote while dying of brain cancer, to ease his loved ones' minds. The song was called "I'll be Spending Christmas With Jesus Christ This Year" and it was totally morbid. Blegh. When good voices make poor music choices..
And one girl with an atrocious voice sang the funniest song I've ever heard - "Let Freedom Ring This Christmas." I mean, who the heck writes that stuff?? It was seriously a United Way commercial.
buuut, I'm doing good. Gotta go try and close my bank account again with that eeeevil place, Bank One. Commies.
SUPERCRACK is doin' it, doin' it....
