o so busy no time to email...
so i'll just update this and hope people don't think i've fallen off the end of the earth...
today i was at Urmi's before symphony when she got a phone call and told me we had to srun to the school because there was some crazy man yelling about Islam next to the Union.
I knew I might risk being late from symphony which is a VERY BAD THING but I did it anyway.
He was some clean cut looking white guy that was explaining the 5 pillars of Islam and contrasting them to Christianity.
Well first off, this is not the proper venue, and second off, I wouldn't take this man's opinions about Islam because he was explaining them just so he could call them evil. Oh, that's not biased - let's believe him!
There were lots of Muslim students gathered arund that were trying to correct him on his assumptions, but he wouldn't listen. He was saying all the things their religion believe you "have to do or you won't go to heaven."
Then he said "but the bible says God syays you don't have to do anything to go to heaven."
RRRGGGG!!!!! So I couldn't take that. This guy's argument was that since Islam believes you have to do thngs, that's why they are wrong and evil.
Here I misquoted myslef because I always mix up the names James and John.
"Excuse me! What about 'Faith without works is dead?' Read John! Why were we given the 10 commandments? We're not supposed to do anything on this earth? Then WHY ARE WE HERE?"
He corrected me and told me it was James chapter 2 I had meant, and he'd explain that later. Arg, at this point I had to leave for orchstra, but I didn't need to stay and hear that same old arguement. How could anyone read James chapter 2 and tell me we are saved by faith alone?
And that he would just stand there on our campus and incorrectly denouce the religion of almost ALL our computer science majors?? Isn't there something in christianity about tolerance?
SUPERCRACK had some guts, baby...
ps.... Casey, do explain more - this is too intriguing....
