best baby.

September 04, 2007 at 12:56 p.m.

It's not like I haven't wanted to write all week, but I had nothing to write about. Life has trampled on, I taught my lessions, Solei keeps walking and myusual issues and reasons for driving my husband insane are all around, as usual.

But ahh, then the weekened happened, inlaws piled into town for Grandpa's 95th birthday, complete with 4 kids under 14 months. One 2 year old.

The one staying at our house sounds like a howler monkey. And she's also at that pushing-shoving-stealing-anything-in-my-daughter's-hand age. I'm trying to give her the benefit of the doubt, but good golly, Solei is covered in bruises and is getting beat up so much, I'm having a hard time not smacking her back.

But you know what? Seeing her around these other babies, I now understand why people tell me my kid is so freaking awesome. h, when she is hungry or tired, she reacts the same all babies do. But then when she is okay, all the smiles, the sweet eye contact, the drive-by-snuggles, and the fact that her first reaction to people is just sweet.

Not to gloat, because I know at this age, nothing is a representation of my parenting, but I know that I'm seeing their little unadulterated personalities and I love that MY little one's unadulterated personality is so. dang. sweet.

My job is to make sure she stays that way.

I need to admit when clothes are just too small. I am not the size I was when I bought them. I am not huge, but I am not as thin as I was.

I am nowhere NEAR accepting this, but I think I will get closer once I removed the few things from my wardrobe that make me look like I'm borrowing Solei's clothes. Oh, and then, after I try it on and realize that if I do wear it, I would not be able to bend over, pick up Soleior breathe - theeeen I make the brilliant move of hanging it back up in the closet so I can try it on again tomorrow and come to the same conclusion.

Crap.

Next entry will detail our adventure on Saturday to the DragonCon parade. The other babies were too tempermental to make the trek with us, so it was our easy-going sweetie and us. It's basically a parade of fantasy fans dressed up in their garb - from Star Wars to Harry Potter. Hillllarious!!!

SUPERCRACK.
