inside Brasil

Oooo doggies am I about to have an adventure tomorrow! I am VERY fuzzy on the specifics, but the Relief Society (women's organization) for my church is having a biiiig activity in the area that involves each congregation to present a dance or something that represents a different part of Brasil. Ours is doing something on the northeast part, Bahia, which apparently involves a LOT of funny jokes about voodoo. Which I totally don't get, surprise, surprise.
I haven't gotten much of a feel for Brasil yet - so far, a lot of the music I've heard is a rip-off of Mexican or American music and I haven't been impressed. The music we're dancing to it boring pop stuff - but the dancing?
Oh wait, that's weird pop stuff too, I guess the unique part is most of these women are mothers, middle-aged and the like. And they have no inhibitions, they're flailing about like they're on MTV - I LOVE it!!
It felt my first REAL glimpse into the heart of Brasil. These women, no matter their background or station, can really work it. Man, I'm so whitebread.
It's good to see, though. The country at it's realest, yo. It's more than bad cheese and mango trees on every corner. Wait, the trees are everywhere, you have to go to the store for cheese. But you knew that, right?
Ooooo I think Solei is asleep. I'd better follow - I really hate sleeping, as much as eating almost, but now dagnabit, I grab my zzzz's wherever I can get 'em. Man, tomorrow is gonna be weird. I'll tell you all about it though;)
SUPERCRACK is infiltrating the enemy. Yo.
