So it has happened before... I'll be doing something and the amzing nature of whatever it is will just hit me... like back this summer in the Ukraine...
But last night I was in a tiny lodge near a beautiful lake on a crisp clear night in Oklahoma... in the country so when you went outside the stars were almost as bright as in Colorado. And I was dancing to Cotton-Eyed Joe with strange people I didn't even know.
5 years ago when I came to live here I would scoff at line dancing or any of this nonsense... now, it's part of my culture. I don't mind, I play and have fun. And I'm leaving soon... never to really return... all I can think is,
HOW DID I GET HERE??
In this beautiful place where I love and am loved and am growing oh-so-gradually...
Whatever got me here at this moment, I say okay, it was okay. I don't hate it anymore.

Mr. Crabtree patched things up with me but I was still mad and finally Thursday we had the DTR talk.
All is good. It happened at the Big Band Bash. I gave up open mic at the Brickhaus to do it because when it comes to the once-a-year UNT bash with a band, or the every week open mic, I'll suffer just once:)
Mr. Crabtree came too and we danced like maniacs.. Hiro was there, and Brigita - my fav Latin partner... it was a trip.
But the intreresting thing comes from the fact that I hadn't done laundry in weeks, and I had to play in a recital just before. What was I to do about concert balck?? So I wore my new sexy black sweater and some awesome black vynil pants I picked up that look exactly like leather.
No biggie, it was great and I headed to the dance. I look faboo when I dance, by-the-by, and even better when Brigita and I do the mambo:)
After the DTR, I was in such a great mood and was dancing up a storm. I knew some of the guys in the band - masters and doctoral guys form the UNT Jazz dept. So I was waving to 'em through the night to say hi.
The lead trombone guy at one point stopped before announcing the next song and announced somthing like:
"Um - to the girl in the black leather pants: THANK YOU!"
haha... I've been walking around with a spring in my step for day. I'm the girl in the sexy pants:)
SUPERCRACK is feelin' fiiiiine.
ps oh, you wanted to now about the DTR thing? basically all is kosher - we're playing it cool because he's leaving, I'm leaving and the long distance thing is no friend o' mine... so until I leave, I have a close friend here with lotsa boundaries on just about everything. Annie, it's GREAT - you'd be proud. Any questions?:)
