trip to visit fam and back again

Crazy weekend. I feel like my head got hit by a truck. That kind of sleep you get that isn't so good and you're just really pooped still and you'd rather not be awake?
We drove to Texas (eaassssttt Texas, 120 miles northeast of Houston) to visit some of Jared's family with some of Jared's family. Me and Jared, his parents, his brother and his wife, and their baby.
10 hours drive each way over night back and to in a van. And somehow we survived, it wasn't so bad. The baby didn't even cry until the end! Although it did very little for me wanting a little rasin of my own, but my personal comfort was not infringed on too much.
And it was fun! His grandpa is maybe the sweetest grandpa in the world, and his aunt and uncle are hil-arious and so sweet! And SOO Texan - get this - his uncle's name is Jimbo! And he's got tons of stories the involve hog traps nd angry emus. Totally fantabulous;)
Here's a pic of the fam that was there:
There's Grandpa, moi, Jared, Aunt Wendy, Mom-in-law, Uncle Jimbo, Dad-in-law, sis and bro in law and in her arms is Buster the Wonder Baby.
Yeah. Worst photoshop EVER. heh.
Here's Jared and I and Grandpa:
All in all, quite lovely:) Except we are really freaking exhausted right now. And at this very second, we are getting carpet replaced!! We're about to move into our actual bedroom today!!!
We're working like mad people here and it's starting to make sense. Like, take the kitchen for example - here is a before pic of the cabinents:
that's what we're planning top do, anyway - here's how they look so far:
So, we're getting places. I did have an unfortunate accidente while painting a ceiling last week though...
All in all, I think this house is going to look okay someday. The carpet already looks great and I feel new and refreshed and ahhh.. yeah, there's going to be tons of work. But I'll be rolling around on some new carpet tonight:)
Okay - really quick - I don't own a scale for obvious reasons, but there was one on our trip so I used it and... I weigh the most I ever have!! I skip meals all the time and I am working physically constantly!! I am really frustrated. I know I hve a skewed sense of body image but I feel really crummy about it - and Jared, string bean that he is, weighs only 4 pounds more than me. I need to get better about this eating thing. I do NOT want to weigh this much.
I am NOT a fan of scales. Grrr.
SUPRCRACK is a tubby barrel o' fun!
