New Years had all the makings of stinking this year.
I got frostbite AGAIN while skiing, planned on going to a dance with my brother and gave myself a black eye all on New Year's Eve.
Skiing was great though, I got to ski with Urmi and Mark all day. Dang, they are the best ski buddies. Almost as good as MatMunch:) Mark was a dear and had hand warmers so my toes didn't freeze off, but this phenomenon is getting slightly annoying.
So I get home with the 'rents and sit on the hot tub for almost 3 hours with mummy and my aunt. Not bad, except I got all relaxed and realized a New Years dance could be slightly depressing when the only friend I'm going to know there has a boyfriend and I'm going to be dancing with my bro all night. NOT TAHT I DON'T LOVE QUINN. But you understand me, folks.
So I'm sent to bed to take a nap before the dance and I just lay down and feel sorry for myself. Poor, poor single Reva. No one to dance with. Reva never has anyone to dance with. Her life stinks soooooo much. ANd then while our fair heroine is readjusting her pillow and goes to put her head back down, THWACKS her eye on the headboard.
THWACK!!!!
So now I reallly have something to cry about, go downstairs screaming and mummy gives me ice to put on my face and sends me back to bed.
Somehow, I got to sleep and was awakened for the festivities. Don't wanna go. I get made to go. Dang it.
Whn I look back on this New Years, I'll remember it as the year I looked really hot. Quinn wore his cool Kung-Fu thing and I wore my red Chinese dress. hottie, me.
And I did get to dance - bunches. Annie and her boyfriend were great and danced almost all night long so I wasn't lonely and felt marvoo. I was marveled that her normal boyfriend was cool enough to dance all night - I never had a boyfriend that danced. They couldn't actually, but mostly they didn't want to. So he was great and that's going on my list - any guy that dances with me for fun all night long is a keeper. Wonder if there's anyone like that out there.... I'll wait:)
Then driving home throught a blizzard was fun and I was asleep. Ooo, I did dance a slow dance though! Besides the ones I did with my brother - Lady in Red is myyy song and I danced with a nice boy who thinks I play guitar really well. That's something, anyway.
Then after sleeping in until 12 noon yesterday, Urmi and mark ascended on my home and we vegged at the traditional New Years buffet my mom throws. I've never had my friends bond with my family like that - it was just awesome. Urmi and I were total crackheads most of the time, but that's why we love each other. The best part was when my mom was so comfortable that she and my aunt started yelling at each other, which is always verry funny. Now Urmi knows exactly where I get it:)
Oh, and hot tubbing with snow falling all around is always nice.
I think this is going to be a good year. Last year was finally a good year for me, and I like the way this one is starting out. I love my fam, friends, and all the things we are about the embark on. Exotic is the word for the year, kids.
