Floating 2 years later...

Jared left for a few hours this evening, and I have been stuck here with a baby that wants to sleep, but she CAN'T sleep, because she must be awake until I say she can sleep... I have this all figured out in my head, and she needs to stay awake all evening so she maybe can sleep more tonight. I need some sleep, people. Jared and I have turned into zombies!!
So what to do to entertain my cherub, eh? Next to the couch sat my guitar... Jared plays it for we while I jam away on my fiddle to cheer me up, and while I've played guitar for years (you long-suffering readers will remember all my songwriting and open mic escapdes of college) -I haven't played much since I got married. I guess I've just been too darn happy to need to play my angry-chick music;)
Anywho, I played for her, and she liked it... well, she didn't start crying anyway. So I played another song... it felt good to be playing my own songs again. Just in front of a very different audience than I used to.

So I decided to record Solei and I for posterity - me at 27, trying to entertain Solei at 1 month and counting. My hair is longer, my stomach is fatter, and well, it's just her listening, but it's nice in a different sort of way. She stared in the direction of the camera the whole time and she squeaks and dances for you. It's cute, of course. (Still uploading to YouTube - will be up in a few minutes)
