do you have any idea what these fiddle guys are like up close??

Hellllooooooo San Diego.
Yep, I'm back another year for the greatest fiddle camp EVER. Having a blast - the concerts have been astounding and the people as always are groovy so I'm a luckylucky girl, yes I am. Even though the sleep deprivation gets to you....
Kazu is here! He even brought his tap shoes! I loveitiloveitiloveit. He's carrying aroung to large wooden boards so he can tap dance anywhere. This is too good:)
And I even got propositioned by a certain famous jazz violinist... these old men are disgusting! One famous fiddle player whom I will not mention keeps patting me on the back and tells me I'm such a great violinist. hmmmmm... he's never heard me play and he's older than my dad. 2+2=... freak magnet, right here!
This certain jazz violinist that tried to come over late one night and "give me a foot rub" had something REALLY funny/gross happen to his his first night here.
He came in late from Boston and was exhausted so he jumped right into bed. After a minute he noticed something was wrong... he was a little... wet... and it didn't smell like water....
Apperently, the previous guest had poor bladder control and instead of changing the matress, housekeeping just put a new sheet on it.
Hence, one of the greatest living jazz violinists is now known as Mr. Pee Pee.
Ech, I have no idea what I'm doing with my life right now (well, I know I'm going to Mesa Arimazona to live and get my masters and then I want to go serve a mission and such) but the big stuff... okay, not as big as that stuff I guess, but... what kind of violinist am I?
Seriosuly folks, slap me now, because it has been 2 months since I really practiced. Yep, since my recital. My fingers are jelly!! And it makes me wonder what I'm trying to do...
Haven't played jazz in oh-so-long and it feels like home, so that's good. But I've got to work to get back on track and good again.
Why? When the heck will I use this music?
I dunno, but I'm driven to do it anyway.
I want to play South American music when Dallin gets back.
I want to play Indian music with sitar players and Urmi's dad on tabla (with Urmi singing, of course:)
I want to be able to play these butt-hard fiddle tunes and be as chromatic as all of these guys.
I want to kick butt on celtic.
I'm having such a good time though. I can never go home for the summer again because it just makes my playing ability go out the window.
At least I have these opportunities. Most people are stick with "classical" music and never find a way out to making their instrument sing in their voice, and not what their teacher wants. And I get to be in the heart of it, with the greatest violinists out there, being propositioned:)
SUPERCRACK loveslovesloves it, even though she has no idea why she's driven to do it, for cryin'out lovd!
