back to the grindstone

April 11, 2005 at 5:47 a.m.

Arg.

I had a whole week of bliss - bliss that can only be described as - SPRING BREAK. And now, in a few short minutes, I will head out the door again at an ridiculous hour and subject myself to 5 periods of orchestra, where undoubtedly I will *get* to experience:

*ditching seniors

*freshman who don't like their pieces (I gave them the SpongeBob theme and they complain?!?!)

*irrate parents of said ditching seniors who are being called on the carpet

*heck if I know what'll go on with my co-teacher

*being asked 16 million times "do we have to play today?" YES YOU DO!!!!!!!!

And me, trying to hold it all in. For the most part I feel incredible, right now at least. My week of sleeping enough, getting to work my own schedule and relax has been wonderful!!

And this weekend was out of this world super. Jared has this odd knack of being able to read my mind and treated me to the funnest weekend ever. Everything he suggested we do was something that had been in the back of my mind. He even woke up Saturday and took me to my favorite breakfast restaurant - Cracker Barrel! Just littke things to surprise me:) Honestly, just about perfect. For me.

And if you've managed to wade through all that sap, her's a treat - I did some recording with the illustrious guitarist from the BorderCollies for some demos to hand out so we can do some more duo gigs. They were mostly first take only because I start wigging out and getting all "one more time - I can make that c# even better!!" but they were overall pretty good. Micheal is basically the BEST guitarist there is so it can't go too wrong.

Anywho, he sent some mp3's to my dad and my dad flipped out and posted them on his website and sent e.mails to my family, telling them that this was a

Pay Day From Heaven!

Dear Family:

No doubt about it, we have hit a new musical high in the our family, far beyond my highest expectations for Reva's master's degree at Arizona State University. Reva now has a applied music career that will bring a lifetime of happiness to everybody who hears her "magical" musicianship. Just listen to any of the following links below and you will understand why it doesn't get any better than this regardless of whether you are classically or jazz oriented for it will dazzle you. It really swings and literally mesmerizes me whenever I listen to these latest recordings with Michael Robbins and Reva!!!!

*blushes* wow, to get my dad that proud of me?? Priceless. It doesn't get much better than that for this girl:) You can hear them at his site.

So what if some kids yell at me today? I got a pretty good team cheering me on.

SUPERCRACK is outta the gates!
