thankful

Last year, I ate chili cheese dogs, french fries and root beer in a hot Brasilian house. A few days later we had a proper feast with some American friends, and it felt like heaven. I can't believe it was just a year ago. Solei was just over a month old, and I was still so lost and scared to the mothering thing and Brasil.
Also, we had a little costume fun with her and another baby... click here for the insane pictures.
This year, I'm in Colorado and surrouded by family who adore my wee one. I'm so thankful for them, and for the peace and joy I feel.
I'm thankful for a husband who loves me and makes it his mission to make me happy.
I'm thankful for a daughter who isn't stingy with her laughs and loves.
I'm thankful for all the people in Brasil who taught me to be a mom and loved me though those difficult first months.
I'm thankful for our home and country. I've been around the world, lived in South America, and don't think America is the answer-all to every problem, but it is my home and it is incredibly blessed.
I am thankful for PBS kids programming.
I am thankful for my violin and the chances I have to gig and work with it.
I am thankful for my religion and the knowledge that I have. I know God loves me and expects me to share my blessings.
I am thaknful for this blog and all the amazing friends I have made from it. I am thankful for ever comment, every e.mail and hugs you have all given me. Thank you to all for all the sympathy, reality checks and giggles you've shared. I know I am a blessed blogger:)
