IT'S NOT THAT BAD!

My 2 shows today are later, so I gotsa post now so I can gets my sleep on when I get home tonight.
I loves me some baby magazines. As a a new mom, I eat up the articles to find tips and tricks and love to feel less alone at this. Oooo, one idea I LOVED was cereal night - if you don't have time to make dinner, just put all the breakfast food on the table and go for it. I love that idea!
But something that I read over and over again are articles bemoaning what happens to your bod once you have kids - how you'll never look the same again - it's all over, ha ha ha.
GRRR!!! I remember laying in my hospital bed 2 days after having Solei, and seeing the screen saver on Jared's computer - a smiling pictue of yours truly pre-baby - and sobbing uncontrollably. I knew I'd never look that way again. They all said my breats would sag from now on, my belly would be a flabby reminder that I was a mom.
I spent months mourning my life and my body because of all the stupid things people say change when you have a baby. But a year later, dagnabit, my boobs are back where they were, my tummy looks the same as before and the only real change in my life is trying to keep my toddler in a shopping cart.
And good golly, babies do NOT scream every time you and your husband get intimate. Heck, I can't ever remember a single time we've been interupted.
I wish someone would have told me your life DOES bcome normal again. Your body is amazing in its recovery skills. Heck, I never exercized, I just don't eat to excess and drink a lot of water and take care of myself. And I love my babydaddy/husband more every day.
To anyone contemplating having a bady - don't believe everything they say. Yeah, your body changes, your life changes, and getting used to it is a stretch, but it DOES happen and life can be just as wonderful.
Naysayers, begone. I should start my own magazine. IT'S GONNA BE FINE monthly.
Okay, any tricks or tips to flying with a toddler?? Babies I can do. Heck, I flew a 10 hour intersational flight with Solei when she was 3 months old. But She's MOBILE now. She can sit in your lap for 10 seconds, max. And when she feels repressed, she gets completely histerical. No, she's not a terror but she's 13 months old, mobile and wants to BE mobile all the time.
I have a few tricks up my sleeve, but do any of you?? Any toys you know that are good, distracting??
Ooops, I have to rush off to my gig. Seriously, I'd love some of your sneaky tricks!!
SUPERCRACK, supermommy!!!
